Photo Drive!
Email pics to “photodrive @ kolouri dot com” and we’ll upload them to a special folder in the gallery!
I’ll leave the contest open for a week or so and choose a random winner from all entries… one entry per person, but send as many photos as you like!
Winner gets a $25 gift certificate to the shop.
Have fun and start sending in those pics!
Arsenic and Old Lace
Before I even started dyeing this one, I had in mind the 1939 comedy play “Arsenic and Old Lace” by Joseph Kesselring.
This gradation is done on a size 4 Ecru w/ Linen. It was supposed to be a subtle blend of pinks, natural and beiges to bring out antique lace look of the undyed wrap. For some reason, as I was swatching colors in my sketchbook, I couldn’t help but think of the old comedy. If you haven’t read it, it’s slapstick humour about two little old sisters who poisen men with elderberry wine that’s laced with arsenic and a pinch of cyanide and bury them in the cellar to collect the men’s pensions. Macabre, perhaps, but the chain of events that follows when the sisters invite their last victim to a glass of wine will leave you in a fit of laughter.
And now for the pics..

Hope you love it, Kristin!
Oh, and everybody else…. get your pics ready! Next week, starting Monday, I’ll be running a photodrive for the gallery with prizes! Anything I’ve dyed in the past is fair game!
